It’s Here… the First Not Dogs Christmas Menu

We are so excited to present to you the special Not Dogs Christmas menu filled with our favourite Christmas treats with a Not Dogs twist.

Christmas Menu

It’s been a long time in the making but with the help of our fantastic Crew you can enjoy this special menu from 1st December (until 31st).

We really hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed creating it!

Santa’s Stilton Surprise

Not Dog topped with house-made Christmas-spiced caramelised red onions finished with a sprinkling of crumbled stilton

This recipe was a big hit at the Oxford Christmas Market which we did for two years running. We love the mix of warm, spiced onions with the sharp, creamy stilton.

A Christmas burger is something we’ve both wanted to do for a long time so we are so excited for you to try it! We wanted to recreate all the delicious Christmas dinner tastes in a burger and offer something extra special to our fantastic customers.

One Day a Week with Meat Free Monday

We were fortunuate to be invited to London by the McCartney family, founders of the not-for-profit campaign Meat Free Monday, to the screening of their short film focusing on the huge contributor to climate change – animal agriculture.

The afternoon started with Paul and Mary McCartney introducing us to the film which describes how the beauty of the planet only exists through a balance of climatic conditions - a balance we are dangerously disrupting through our desire for animal products.

Meat Free Monday

The curtains went back and the film started which features amazing, powerful imagery of our beautiful planet and unfortunately some of the industries which are destroying it with appearances from Paul, Mary and Stella McCartney, Woody Harrelson and Emma Stone… you can watch the short film here:

The hashtag #OneDayAWeek to go with the short film really sums it up - just taking a break from eating meat for one day a week helps to slow climate change, conserve precious natural resources and improves your health (bonus!). We created Not Dogs so that those who are reducing their meat intake don’t miss favourite treats - so it really is that easy!

“There’s a simple but significant way to help protect the planet and all its inhabitants”, says Paul McCartney. “And it starts with just one day a week. One day without eating animal products can have a huge impact in helping maintain that delicate balance that sustains us all.”
Meat Free Monday

With guests such as Joanna Lumley, Vivienne Westwood and Chris Evans in one tiny little cinema in Soho we felt so proud to be among such people who are making a difference to our planet through personal and business projects… the fact that Not Dogs, Kickin’ Katie & Plain Jane were there alongside them was just fantastic.

Here’s a few facts on why #OneDayAWeek
  • It can take 2,350 litres of fresh water – that’s about 30 bathtubs! – to produce just one beef burger
  • An area of rainforest the size of a hundred football pitches is cut down every hour to create room for grazing cattle
  • A third of all cereal crops, and more than 95 per cent of soy, is turned into feed for farmed animals

We hope you enjoy the film as much as us! Get sharing and have a try of cutting out meat for just #OneDayAWeek!
